Garden Club's Christmas Party (Dec24)

Christmas time really is a wonderful time of the year! So many places are beautifully decorated and there is a tangible joy in the air. Could this joy be because The Garden Club of Trinidad’s Christmas Party is nigh? Once again the party was held at Paprika Bistro at Westmall. The venue was beautifully decorated and music was by DJ Kevin. Although the turnout for the party was not as strong as previously, it was a lovely occasion!

Prizes were awarded for the best Christmas earrings for the gals and best Christmas tie for the guys. Judging was done by the lady staff members of Paprika. Lyn Murray walked away with the earrings prize and the club’s president, Gerard Farfan, snagged the men’s prize for best tie (he was certainly well tied and bowed).

As always, the food was delicious and drinks were on tap. All helping with the jolly atmosphere.

Pass the bauble was such fun after the meal. It was wonderful to have Zoe, Chan’s daughter, join us in the game. Santa, I’m sure was very pleased when she won!

The winners of the photo competition were announced. The judging was done by acclaimed photographer, Rachel Lee Young. First prize went to Marion D’Almada, second prize to Moira Hamel-Smith and third prize to Janice Potter. Congratulations to you three ladies. Well done!

The celebrating and the chatting carried on while scrumptious finger desserts were served.

Many donated to this years cause, run by the dedicated Christine Mahon. The donations were split between (along with donations from other groups) Izerina Home for the Aged, El Dorado Centre for old folks and Mary Care Centre for pregnant girls and young women, 12 and over.

Thanks go out to all who organized the party, to Paprika Bistro for a great production, to all who supported the party and to all who donated to the worthy cause. The Garden Club of Trinidad wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful and safe 2025.
