Tea & Garden Party at Mille Fleur
Mille Fleurs, the home of The National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago and one of the Magnificent Seven, probably the most romantic of them all, was the setting for what can only be described as a most beautiful Tea and Garden Party. The idea to host such an event at Mille Fleurs came about when the Garden Club was approached by The National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago to reestablish the gardens at this stately period home. All proceeds from the tea party will go towards this project which has already begun. Completion is expected by year’s end.
Three hundred guests attended the event with many ladies turning up elegantly dressed and with beautiful hats that finished their styles perfectly. A few darling little ones also attended, topped off too with their hats.
While the tea service was being served the guests were serenaded by classical guitar music, expertly performed by professional guitarist Stefan Roach.
The Garden Club of Trinidad also presented a cheque for $10,000.00 to Mr. Bernard Beckles and Mr. Tony Tang Kai. Mr. Beckles is the lead designer and Mr. Tang Kai the coordinator of the team of horticultural experts that will represent Trinidad and Tobago at The Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show in May in the United Kingdom.
